Does Faxon Make Custom Barrels?

A unique, entirely custom barrel is a popular way to personalize a firearm, achieve a unique goal or complete an interesting project firearm. We here at Faxon Firearms are honored to be thought of when the wish for a custom barrel, part or piece of a build comes to mind, however, we wanted to take a moment to explain why we do not currently offer individual custom barrels or parts and the benefits of our focus on producing a standardized line of barrels.

Producing a specific range of standardized barrels allows us to focus on producing high-quality barrels at scale. This focus and specialization allows us to ensure that each barrel meets our rigorous quality control standards, providing our customers with greater confidence and trust in our brand.

We take quality control seriously at Faxon Firearms. With each barrel we produce, we strive for consistent quality, ensuring that each barrel meets our strict quality control standards. This consistent quality allows our customers to have greater confidence in our barrels and builds trust in our brand.

Having a defined line of barrels with standard lengths, calibers and profiles allows us to decrease production time and streamline our production processes. An individual custom barrel would require additional time and resources to make as we would need to draw up a blueprint, write programs for the CNC mills and lathes, and may even require we order new tooling if the caliber or twist rate requested is not something we produce in volume. All of this would lead to a very long timeline as well as increased costs, both for individual custom items and for our standard production items.

We understand that price is an important consideration for our customers and we want to offer an excellent value in our barrels and parts. Part of how we offer a high-quality barrel at an affordable price is the efficiency of manufacturing to a standardized blueprint. Since the machines can be run continuously after the appropriate program has been loaded, we can produce 500 standard design barrels in about the same amount of man-hours as just two or three custom pattern barrels. This efficiency of manufacture allows our customers to get the most bang for their buck while still receiving a top-quality barrel.
